MMA in Arizona

MMA In Arizona

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is the new term for full contact fighting. MMA has been made popular by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and is an arena that allows a full variety of fighting techniques, from all the martial arts to the non-traditional diciplines such as wrestling and ninjitsu. The fight can take place either on the ground or standing or a mixture of both. One need have no particular degree or level to compete, merely a natural or acquired skill.

What does a person need to do to start working toward the aura of a "Fighter"? Training of course. But what kind of training works best?

1. Get Stronger - This will enable fighters to hold off submission attempts by other fighters (like George St. Pierre.) Gives you greater ability to control your opponents witch allows more solid submissions (think Matt Hughes) and holds such as the Thai Clinch (Anderson "spider" Silva).

2. Get Faster -
Movement is the key to MMA. Being able to sprawl quickly (Chuck Lidell), shoot faster (Miguel Torres) and avoid oncoming blows (Lyoto Machida).

3. More Powerful - This is more about the way that you hit and kick. Guys like Rampage Jackson and Rashad Evans have a lot in the punch... which other fighters just as strong as they are lack.

4. Better Cardio - This one is BIG! Guys like Miguel Torres and Uriah Faber attack, attack, attack, attack, etc... until the fight is over.

5. Work Capacity - Being able to train without your body breaking down and becoming susceptible to injury is an MMA fighter's greatest asset. Judges also love guys who are able to work longer. This means a certain kind of muscle build. Guys like Mark Coleman were often consumed by their muscles leading to an imability to defend themselves. (This means late in the fight people punch and kick him in the face all the time.)

6. Looks - Well, this one's a given. Hit up your MMA in Arizona shop and get chisled!
